CETOP: The European Authority for Fluid Power
CETOP - the Comité Européen des Transmissions Oléohydrauliques et Pneumatiques - is the European Fluid Power Committee.
Through its 19 member associations, CETOP represents over 1,000 companies, primarily manufacturers but also selected distributors. With nearly 70,000 employees and an approximate market a of 16 billion EURO, our members constitute a significant portion of the industry, covering 80-90% of relevant companies in most countries. Many of these are leading fluid power manufacturers and key players in international markets.
CETOP collaborates with the ISC (International Statistics Committee) to ensure global Fluid Power Statistics are collected using commonly agreed definitions and nomenclatures.

Paris, France; Chairman: Victor Pomper
in Stockholm, Sweden, on 15 June 1962
- Founding members: Associations from Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, UK.
- Victor Pomper (France) elected President, Heinz Hahn (Germany) elected Vice President.
CETOP Board requests establishment of ISO Technical Committee for Oil Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
CETOP forms a standardization coordinating committee (the "Council of Wise Men") to address new ISO/TC 131 situation.
- Restructuring of CETOP technical working groups to align with ISO/TC 131.

Decision to implement inter-member statistics exchange.
